Odd Things That British Royalty is Not Allowed To Do.
Royal Family ‘not allowed to play Monopoly’
The Duke of York has given an insight into the Royal Family’s home life, admitting they are not allowed to play Monopoly.
The Duke was visiting Leeds Building Society’s newly-refurbished Albion Street headquarters for a lunch to mark its revamp following the decision to keep its base in the centre of Leeds.
When Prince Andrew was presented with the property board game to mark his visit, he remarked: “We’re not allowed to play Monopoly at home. It gets too vicious.” link
Royalty Can´t Eat Shellfish
British Royals are apparently never served shellfish because of the fear of food poisoning.
Finish your dinner
At least in Britain, when the Queen stops eating, you stop as well, no matter how hungry you are. Fortunately many of those old rules are no longer strictly observed so you can be sure that in practice, this doesn’t happen.link
Royalty Can´t Work
It is well known that Royals and careers don’t mix well. As proven when Prince Charles’ plan to work part time in a factory failed and Countess Sophie Wessex was forced to abandon her PR firm.
Sign Anything broke Royal Family rules
Months ago Prince Harry risked the Queen’s ire when he broke royal rules by autographing the plaster cast of a female Air Training Corps cadet who had broken her arm. As a counsellor of state who signs government papers and brings legislation into force when he stands in for the Queen, the prince is not strictly supposed to sign anything that could lead to his signature being copied and forged. However, his grandma is likely to forgive the young prince for writing “Get well soon.Harry” on Charlotte Wilkinson-Burnett’s cast. link
